Most complaints that I hear from new clients is that their last massage therapist didn't communicate with them. Before a appointment is set up, I ask a series of questions that will help the client determine what he/she needs. Just as the therapist you will need to communicate what is wrong with your body and explain what it is that you'd like for your long term massage care.
Every massage is catered towards the clients needs. As the saying goes, no two clients muscles are the same.
Before the client even gets on the table, a client health assessment form will need to be filled out. The client can address additional questions or concerns about the session. I usually ask questions about gaps in medical history such as previous soft tissue injuries, etc. Sometimes the smallest details can help determine what is going on with the clients muscles.
Here's what I offer:
Even though you are receiving a medical, therapeutic massage, you shouldn't have to receive it in a medical setting. The room is pleasantly decorated in a oriental fashion. A water fall trickles in the back ground and candle are lit to create a relaxing ambiance.
My sessions are no less than 1-hour and can last up to 2-hours. Draping is to your comfort level. A warm table and clean sheets await you. You will have a choice of one of three essentials oils for your session. You have a choice of gel, cream or lotion. All products are organic and made by Biotone or Set-N-Me-Free. Hot and moist towels are provided to remove excess gel or refresh the skin after a massage.
For those that like to save money I do run specials and I give concessions to frequent clients.
Since I own my own business, the sessions are never rushed. There is always a 30 to 60-minute space between sessions so clients never feel that they are being hurried on or off the table. There is always plenty of time if you decide to extend your session or need to ask questions about your health.
When you leave you are given a 10-ounce bottle of water and stretching exercises. The water helps to flush toxins that have been milked from your muscles. The stretching exercises are to help you to incorporate more stretching in your everyday life. The exercises can help with preventing repetitive motion injury. Sometimes I give away rubber balls for self trigger point therapy.
